MAY 2019

I want to draw attention to something very close to my heart in this months newsletter; mental health issues and disabilites.

As many of my loyal following will know, I grew up with Autism and a Generalised Anexity Disorder. These disabilites led to me feeling like an outcast throughout education and, indeed, much of my life. Bullying throughout my time in mainstream education led to me attempting to take my own life for the first at just 15 years-old.

I mention this because I am very proud to have been appointed as Ambassador for Clinks Care Farm earlier this month. Clinks provided me with essential restbite from the relentless bullying throughout my teenage years; something that played a large part in the tranfromation from bullied teenager to renowned photographer.

An award-winning social enterprise, Clinks Care Farm offers placements for disadvantaged or disabled people looking to gain confidence, life changing skills or recover from an accident or mental health condition.

We will be working alongside Clinks Care Farm moving forwards as I aim to empower disadvantaged people to take positive steps for a brighter future and promote social inclusion through my work.

Clinks Care Farm Ambassador Appointment
15th May 2019

On Wednesday 15th May, Clinks Care Farm announced fine-art photographer Alfie Bowen as the organisations first Ambassador following a five-year relationship.

Alfie comments - "I am extremely proud to have been appointed as the first ambassador for Clinks Care Farm. I first attended the farm five years ago during my recovery from mental health conditions and extremely low self-belief fuelled by many years of bullying. The farm and it’s wonderful community of smiling faces went on to play a key role in my transformation from depressed and anxious teenager to world-renowned artist."
